David Faulkner is the oldest Kenton Rotarian by age and membership with his 59 years as a Kenton Rotarian.

Dave spoke to the group about a couple of books he picked up at the MLJ Hardin County District Library.

The first is The Road to Wisdom: On Truth, Science, Faith, and Trust by Francis S. Collins and the second is How to Be Perfect: The Correct Answer to Every Moral Question by Michael Schur, He mentioned both of these books are really good reads and he would recommend anyone to read them.

Dave provided a brief history and shared some memories of when he was first invited to Rotary. The meetings were held at the old golf course club house, weekly. It was all gentlemen Rotarians at that time, owners from very prominent business in Kenton. The group represented a very large impressive amount of leadership and knowledge across the members of the community.

Each of the members were reminded about the 4 way test, members were asked to apply this test to their daily life as a Rotarian and as a human being.

4 Way Test:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENIFICIAL to all concerned?

The above statement speaks to itself as we all should ask ourselves; do we put this test to work in our every-day lives?
