Gusty southwest winds will become westerly during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The strong winds and the recently fallen snow are resulting in some blowing and drifting snow, especially across rural and open areas.
This may result in rapid changes in road conditions over short distances. Motorists should exercise extra caution.
Hardin County remains under a Level 2 Snow Emergency as of 6 this morning.
Roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow, and only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads.
Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.
A Cold Weather Advisory also remains in effect from 7 p.m. this evening until noon Wednesday for Hardin and surrounding counties. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 19 below zero are expected. Exposed skin could suffer frostbite in as little as 30 minutes. Officials urge anyone going outdoors to dress in layers, including a hat, face mask, and gloves, and to take precautions against the extreme cold.
