Starting today, the elevator at the Lima Municipal Center will be out of service for approximately six weeks while necessary work is being completed.

Access to City Services

During this time, the Lima Municipal Center will remain open and City departments will continue to provide services to the public.

Residents who are unable to use the stairs may request assistance through the lobby receptionist or use the lobby phone system to contact the appropriate department.  City employees will meet residents in the lobby as needed to ensure continued City services throughout the elevator closure.

Temporary City Council Meeting Location

The elevator work will also impact the availability of Council Chambers.  As a result, the September 14th and September 28th Lima City Council meetings will be held at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Graduate Medical Education Center, located at 751 W. Market Street, Lima, Ohio 45801.

Temporary Mayor’s Media Briefing Location

The Mayor’s weekly media briefing will also temporarily relocate.  From Wednesday, September 2nd through Wednesday, October 7th, briefings will be held at 10:30am at the Cambridge Center, located at 418 N. Central Avenue, Lima, Ohio 45801.

The City appreciates the public’s patience and understanding while this work is completed.  An additional update will be provided once a reopening date for the Lima Municipal Center elevator has been established.
