Marion Man Killed in Accident in Marion County Wednesday

A motorcycle operator was killed in an accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Marion County.

According to a release from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Patrol, 23 year old Devin M. Black, of Marion, was riding the motorcycle east on Somerlot Hoffman Road when a westbound vehicle being driven by 35 year old Andrew Habbas, of Marion, attempted to turn left into a driveway when it struck the motorcycle.

Black was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

Habbas sustained minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Township Fire and EMS, Marion County Coroner’s Office and Precision Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
