Marion Palace Theatre Announces Auditions for Avenue Q

The Marion Palace Theatre is excited to announce auditions for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical comedy Avenue Q, with performances scheduled for August 21–23, 2026.

Directed by Dustin Rawlins, auditions will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Marion Palace Theatre. Performers ages 17 and older are encouraged to audition. All roles are open.

Filled with unforgettable songs, outrageous comedy, and surprising heart, Avenue Q follows a group of young adults navigating careers, relationships, and the search for purpose on a quirky New York City street. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, Avenue Q has become one of Broadway’s most beloved contemporary musicals.

Rawlins is seeking performers for a variety of roles including Princeton, Kate Monster, Rod, Nicky, Trekkie Monster, Lucy, Brian, Christmas Eve, Gary Coleman, and more. No prior puppetry experience is required, and performers of all backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

Each auditioner should prepare:

• A one-minute vocal solo
• Printed sheet music for the accompanist
• Be prepared to read from the script

A pianist will be provided. No recordings or CDs will be accepted.

Avenue Q contains strong language, adult themes, sexual humor, and puppet nudity. This production is intended for mature audiences.
