Marion Palace Theatre to Hold Auditions for Disney’s Aladdin JR. August 16

Marion, OH – The Marion Palace Theatre is excited to announce open auditions for its upcoming Jr. Palace Production of Disney’s Aladdin JR., the magical musical adventure based on the beloved Disney film and Broadway production. Filled with unforgettable songs, colorful characters, and plenty of theatrical magic, this family favorite offers young performers the opportunity to bring one of Disney’s most cherished stories to life on the historic Palace stage.

Director Kristi Wink invites boys and girls ages 8 and up to audition on Sunday, August 16, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Marion Palace Theatre.

Disney’s Aladdin JR. follows the adventures of Aladdin, a clever young dreamer who discovers a mysterious magic lamp and a Genie capable of granting three wishes. Alongside Princess Jasmine and an unforgettable cast of characters, Aladdin embarks on a journey of courage, friendship, and self-discovery in a story that has delighted audiences for generations.

Audition Requirements:

• Come dressed in comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for movement.
• Those auditioning for ensemble roles will participate in group singing and dancing. No prepared solo is required.
• Performers interested in lead or featured roles should prepare a one-minute musical theatre selection (not from Aladdin JR.) and be prepared to read from the script. A pianist will be provided; recorded accompaniment will not be accepted.
• Rehearsals are designed with busy families in mind and will generally be held Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the weeks leading up to the performances.

Performances of Disney’s Aladdin JR.  will take place October 2–4, 2026, on the Marion Palace Theatre’s main stage.
