A Detroit, Michigan man was arrested after a pursuit in Auglaize County Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Nathaniel Nix fled the Auglaize County Courthouse after a judge remanded him into custody.

Before deputies arrived on scene, Nix is said to have broke out a window of the courthouse, jumped through the window and fled on foot.

Deputies observed Nix in the parking lot and attempted to take him into custody, but he was able to get into a vehicle and attempt to flee.

A deputy who was attempting to remove Nix from the vehicle was briefly dragged and sustained minor injuries.

A pursuit of the vehicle then ensued, and it traveled through the streets of Wapakoneta and northbound on I-75.

The vehicle was mechanically disabled, and the pursuit ended inside Wood County.

Nix was taken into custody without further incident.

He was transported to the Wood County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding and identity theft.
