A mistrial was declared in the trial of an Alger man on a charge of kidnapping in Allen County Common Pleas Court.

The Lima News reported the jury deliberated for several hours over a two day span but could not reach a unanimous verdict on the most serious of three charges against Karl Duncan.

Duncan was found guilty on a fourth degree felony count of domestic violence.

He was acquitted on a second degree felony count of felonious assault.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.

The case dates back to February of this year, and Duncan has been held in jail since that time.
