A Mt. Blanchard man was among seven people injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred at just after midnight today in Seneca County.

According to a release from the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Patrol, 42 year old Stephen R. Benner Jr. drove left of center while traveling southwest on State Route 12.

His minivan struck a vehicle head on being operated by 18 year old Logan B. Johnson, of Fremont.

Both drivers were transported to ProMedica Hospital in Fostoria for treatment of serious injuries.

Two passengers in Johnson’s vehicle were taken by helicopter to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries.

Three other passengers in Johnson’s car were taken to ProMedica in Fostoria with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and drug usage in both drivers does appear to be a contributing factor in the crash.
