A construction update on the new Kenton Middle and High School Building has been released.

Installation of the block and brick veneer has been completed throughout most of the exterior, with only the gym entrance area and the area where the two-story meets the student dining remaining.

Windows have been installed throughout the building, and temporary enclosures are in place for all storefront openings.

Work on the metal panel roof has been completed on the second story and the West side of the student dining area.

When the weather allows, work on the metal roof will continue.

Numerous other projects are well underway or have been completed throughout the building, which is on track to open in late fall of this year.

Here is the complete school project update from the construction company…….

Split-face block & brick veneer install is complete throughout most of the exterior, with only the gym Entrance area remaining and the area where the two-story meets the student dining area. Windows have been installed throughout the building, and temporary enclosures are in place for all storefront openings.
The metal panel roof has finished up on the 2-story and the West side of the student dining. When the weather allows, metal roof will continue. The exterior wall paneling is complete on the South side of the gym and PAC, and around the locker rooms. The electrical switchgear has arrived and the electrical subcontractor is working on getting this installed and getting the main trunklines ran through the building over the course of the next couple of months.

On the second floor of the 2-story, casework for Unit A has been installed, Unit C is in progress and then will follow with Unit B and the Media Center. Polished floors in the MS science rooms will be completed over the next two weeks and some flooring will start to be installed later in the month.
Overhead utility wrap-up, drywall finishing and painting continues throughout the first floor of the 2-story.
In the PAC, the stage area is being painted. Stage and ramp wall foundation work has begun, with masonry “half-walls” beside the ramps will follow. Drywall has been hung on the second level in the PAC around the sound booth, and this will be finished and painted in the next several weeks.
