Oates Veterinary Clinic is reminding owners to keep their pets indoors as much as possible during this heat wave.

You should avoid leaving them outside for extended periods of time, and they note that 15 minutes can be too long.

You should also avoid letting them walk on black top as much possible.

Dogs and cats already run at a higher temperature than humans, so they can reach heat exhaustion or a heatstroke much quicker.

The clinic would like to keep your pets as safe as possible during these hot days.
