Grove City, OH – The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association has donated $36,000 to the Hardin County Agricultural Society to assist in repairs stemming from damages caused by a tornado in March.

According to the National Weather Service, a brief EF1 tornado touched down just south of Kenton on March 26, bringing peak wind speeds of 90 miles per hour and causing significant damage to the Hardin County Fairgrounds. Included in the widespread facility damage were the announcer stand, portable bleachers, sound system, racetrack lighting, and track stone for the harness racing track. The OHHA’s donation will go toward the repair of those items.

Fair board members and organizers have emphasized that the annual fair will go on as planned. The fair is scheduled for Sept. 8-13, with harness racing on Sept. 9-10.
