Ohio State Highway Patrol Investigates Single Vehicle Serious Injury Crash in Fulton County

Fulton Township – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on January 23, 2026, at approximately 7:59 p.m. The crash occurred on County Road H near County Road 2-2 in Fulton Township, Fulton County.

Chaney A. Sigg, age 22, of Wauseon, Ohio, was operating a white 2017 Ford Fusion, west on County Road H approaching the intersection of County Road 2-2, where she traveled off the left side of the road striking a utility pole, a tree and a fire hydrant. Ms. Sigg was transported by Mercy Health Life Flight to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center with serious injuries.    

County Road H was closed for approximately one and a half hours but has since been reopened. At the time of the crash, Ms. Sigg was wearing her safety belt. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Swanton Police Department, Swanton Fire and EMS, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Mercy Life Flight, Toledo Edison and Brett’s Towing.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to wear their safety belts and not drive distracted.
