Ohio State Highway Patrol Promotes Geer to Lead Marion Post

Sergeant Andrew P. Geer, Mt. Gilead Post, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on June 28 and was recognized late last week by Colonel Charles A. Jones, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Training Academy.

Lieutenant Geer transferred from his previous assignment at the Mt. Gilead Post to serve as post commander at the Marion Post.  

Lieutenant Geer joined the Patrol in September 2011 as a member of the 151st Academy Class. He earned his commission in February of the following year and was assigned to the Sandusky Post. As a trooper, he also served at the Norwalk Post. He was named Post Trooper of the Year twice. He was promoted to sergeant in 2021 and transferred to the Mt. Gilead Post to serve as assistant post commander.
