The Ohio Northern University Ethics Bowl team secured 9th place in the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl.

The team outperformed every other school in Ohio and had a strong showing against both public and private institutions of all sizes from across the nation.

They are only the second team in ONU history to qualify for nationals.

Jonathan Spelman, associate professor of philosophy, received the APPE Pat Croskery Award, named after ONU’s own beloved professor, the late Pat Croskery, who served as director of the ONU Honors Program and as a professor in the Department of Religion and Philosophy.

The award is given to an Ethics Bowl coach or sponsor who exemplifies Pat Croskery’s approach to teaching.
