Patriotic Weekend Planned in Ada

It will be a patriotic weekend in the village of Ada.

The celebrations will kick off Saturday morning with the first ever Firecracker 5k hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio.

Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. with the race taking off at 9:30 a.m. at Ada War Memorial Park.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st place runners in the adult and youth categories.

The 7th Annual Pride of Ada Fireworks will be Saturday evening starting at 9:45 p.m.

The fireworks will be launched from the Ada Baseball Fields near the park.

Then on Sunday, the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s annual Patriotic Pops concert will start at 7:30 p.m. on the west lawn of Ada High School, a new location for the Orchestra’s annual Ada performance.

The concert continues a long-standing tradition of bringing free outdoor music to communities throughout the region.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of music under the summer sky.

The performance is free and open to the public.
