The owner of property on Vine Street was arrested this (Tuesday) morning after allegedly threatening Kenton Mayor Lynn Webb.

At Monday evening’s Kenton City Council meeting, a resident complained about the junk property, which is owned by David Rigdon.

According to information from the Kenton Police Department, the mayor was taking pictures at the property this morning, and Rigdon is said to have taken offense with that and started allegedly making threats.

He was arrested and is being held in the Multi County Jail in Marion on a charge of retaliation.

In an unrelated story concerning Rigdon, the City of Kenton has filed a lawsuit against him in connection to the demolition cost of the old Kenton Surplus building.

According to documents filed in Hardin County Common Pleas Court, Rigdon owes the city $123,515 to cover the cost of demolishing the building that was deemed a nuisance property.

The total cost incurred by the city was $223,515, and Rigdon has paid $100,000 since May of this year.

The suit was filed in late September, and the city is seeking the amount of $123,515, plus interest, court costs and for any other legal and equitable relief.
