Deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Riverdale School Tuesday afternoon to investigate a report of an assault.
The narrative on the report indicates that Nathan Sorg, who is the K-12 grade Assistant Principal, accused a student of having a vape.
Sorg is said to have put his hand on the student’s neck, and according to the report, the student did have marks on his neck.
This incident, which was reported by the student’s mother, remains under investigation.
Riverdale Superintendent Greg Rossman told WKTN this morning that the district is also conducting an internal investigation.
He said that he is in the process of collecting information and could not comment further at this time.
