The first phase of major construction for the safety improvement project at the intersection of U.S. 33 and State Route 274 in Logan County will begin tomorrow.

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be constructing a single lane roundabout at the junction of U.S. 33 and SR 274.

Starting Tuesday morning, crews will be working to close SR 274, between SR 235 and SR 117.

The closure will be in effect for approximately 150 days.

The project was identified due to the intersection’s crash severity and frequency, and the construction of a roundabout was determined to provide the greatest benefit toward improving safety.

Drivers are reminded to be attentive and to use additional caution when traveling work zones by slowing down and eliminating distractions.

Project updates will be provided as work progresses in Logan County.
