A rural Forest man was arrested Monday following a stabbing incident last week.

According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation was initiated by Hancock County authorities who originally believed the stabbing occurred in their jurisdiction.

As it turns out, a man was stabbed back on Saturday in a vehicle parked at the residence of Mark E. Shearer in the 19,000 block of County Highway 330 in Wyandot County.

The victim was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay where he is still being treated for his injuries.

Shearer has been charged with felonious assault, and the incident remains under investigation.
