Two officers from the Russells Point Police Department successfully completed the 40-hour Crisis Intervention Training.

Officers Westly McVety and Patrick Stoltzenburg completed the training that focuses on recognition of mental health crises, challenges critical thinking, communication, rapid assessment, and coordinated team tactics.

The training helps officers safely manage high stress, rapidly evolving situations by emphasizing clear communication, time and distance, and sound decision-making.

Programs like those help officers slow down situations and work toward the safest possible outcomes for everyone involved.
