Almost 38,000 AEP Ohio customers had their power restored Monday as crews were able to return to using bucket trucks once the subsided.

Of the 76,000 customers who were initially affected at the height of Sunday’s storm, about 20,000 customers currently are without power.

Almost 1,000 line, tree, contract and support personnel continue to tackle repairs to the 140 broken poles and spans of wire down across the AEP service territory.

As neighborhoods are restored, crews will be moved to harder hit areas.
