The She Sang Freedom event that was scheduled for Sunday January 20 but was cancelled due to the weather has been rescheduled.
Reverend Vanessa Cummings said the event will now be held this Sunday February 3 starting 3 at St. John’s Church located at 211 East Carrol Street in Kenton.
The event is a celebration of Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It also now coincides with Black History Month in February.
It’s an interactive musical program that explores how black female musicians documented and promoted social justice and equality in America.
The program is free and open to the community. A free will offering will be requested.
For the complete discussion with Rev. Cummings, tune in Public Eye Saturday morning at 7:30 and Sunday at noon on WKTN.
