Single-Vehicle Crash on State Route 18 in Seneca County Claims Four Lives

NORWALK – The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on March 26 at approximately 10:30 p.m. on state Route 18 near County Road 48, just west of Tiffin, Seneca County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a Ford Focus, operated by Hermoiney Greenler, 19, Bucyrus, was eastbound on state Route 18, where she failed to maintain control of her vehicle, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree before becoming partially submerged in a pond.

Greenler and her passengers, Madison Yates, 21, and Jonathan Bowling, 22, both of Tiffin, succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene as a result of the crash. Alexzandria Hickle, 22, Tiffin, was transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Hickle was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and the other three occupants were unbelted.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Bascom Joint Fire District, Ohio Department of Transportation, Seneca County Coroner’s Office and Reinhart Auto Body.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
