LIMA, Ohio — The Lima Symphony Orchestra invites audiences to celebrate summer and the spirit of America at its annual Patriotic Pops concerts, featuring beloved patriotic favorites, iconic film music, and lively American classics. This year’s free community performances will take place on Saturday, June 27, at 7 p.m. at Pangle Pavilion at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater in Lima and again on Sunday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m. on the west lawn of Ada High School, a new location for the Orchestra’s annual Ada performance.
Led by Music Director Lloyd Butler, the program will showcase an exciting mix of patriotic selections, memorable movie themes, and audience favorites. Highlights include The Star-Spangled Banner, Fanfare for the Common Man, America the Beautiful, Armed Forces Salute, music from Apollo 13, Top Gun: Maverick, How to Train Your Dragon, Star Wars, and Wicked, along with selections celebrating the music of Journey and more.
The Lima performance serves as part of the community’s broader Independence Day festivities at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater presented by Cenovus Energy. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the evening before gathering at the Pangle Pavilion for the Symphony’s performance. The Ada concert continues a long-standing tradition of bringing free outdoor music to communities throughout the region.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of music under the summer sky.
Both performances are free and open to the public.
