
Two people were injured in a crash that occurred Monday afternoon at the intersection of State Route 701 and County Road 65 in Marion Township.
According to information from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, a 2012 Nissian Altima driven by Maxwell Kearns, of Ada, was traveling south on County Road 65, and the driver attempted to cross State Route 701.
He did not see a 2021 Chevy Trax being operated by Sandra Schaffier of Findlay traveling east 701.
The Schaffier vehicle struck the passenger side of the Kearns vehicle sending both into a telephone pole, and they came to rest in a field on the south side of 701.
Both drivers were transported by EMS to unknown medical facilities with possible injuries.
Citations are pending.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by McGuffey Fire District, USV EMS, Ada-Liberty Fire Department, Ada-Liberty EMS and Minnich’s Towing.
