The Ohio Department of Transportation plans to replace the deteriorated US 33 bridge over the Great Miami River in Logan County.
The substructure will be repaired, piers fiber-wrapped, and abutments converted to semi-integral design.
Construction is expected in 2028, lasting about four months, with US 33 closed for up to three months and a signed detour provided.
According to the Indian Lake Chamber, temporary impacts include a three-month closure of the river channel to boat traffic and relocation of mussels.
No wetlands or historic properties will be affected.
The $2.14 million project will be funded with federal and state preservation funds.
