The Village of Forest is accepting application for the position of Village Administrator.
This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, familiar with public service, municipal finances, and capable of managing the daily operation of an incorporated village of approximately 1500 residents.
This unique individual will be proficient at balancing their time between maintenance and service tasks, as well as administrative functions. There will be active physical labor with water and wastewater systems, as well as, clerical administrative operations within the office. Regular hours are Monday-Friday. However, some overtime/weekend work will be necessary to address needs of the village.
Experience with heavy machinery from backhoes to mowers is needed, along with knowledge in the workings of the village infrastructure. Possess or willing to obtain Class II, Municipal Water and Sewer Licensees, as well as First Aid, CPR, and AED. Experience with researching and grant writing is a plus, along with a working knowledge zoning, laws, procedures and enforcement.
