
The Village of Jackson Center has announced a Shelter in Place notice for residents (06/12/26).
Officials said that due to a hazardous materials incident near 206 W. Pike Street in Jackson Center, all residents and businesses within a ½-mile radius are advised to shelter in place immediately.
Residents in the area should take the following precautions:
• Stay indoors.
• Close and secure all windows and doors.
• Turn off all HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating, and ventilation.
• If you are driving, turn off your heat and air conditioning and leave the area if it is safe to do so.
• Do not drive around barricades or enter restricted areas.
If you smell gas or have concerns related to the incident, you should contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at 937-498-1111.
