Workers at Wilson Sporting Goods in Ada ratified a new contract in voting that took place Thursday afternoon.

Derek Gibson, president of CMRJB Workers United Local 1385, said after some heated discussion, the contract was passed.

The vote was 62 to 30 in favor of the new deal, which ends the threat of a strike at the plant that produces footballs for the National Football League.

The new contract is for 3 years and will expire in October of 2029.
