Donna Irene (Treen) Conkle, 86, of Kenton, died on Monday morning, September 19, 2022, in the loving arms of her husband Donald.
She was born in Kenton on June 24, 1936 to Elmo Sr. and Mabel P. Treen and was raised by George and Phyllis Sewell of Mt. Victory.
On June 24, 1958 she married Donald E. Conkle and they were married for 64 years. Four children were born to bless this union; Timothy (Annie) Conkle, Judith Wells, Wendy (Randy) Cook, Andrew (Betty Jo) Conkle. Seven grandchildren; Aaron (Kristen) Conkle, Andrija Conkle, Katie Conkle, Michael Conkle, Evan Conkle, Eric Conkle, Emily Conkle and two great grandchildren, Jordyn and Carson Conkle. She is also survived by her siblings; Norman (Kay) Treen, Ed (Jan) Voltz, Penny (Doug) Boose, Cathy (Ron) Cronley, Marsha (Gary) Rutledge.
Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Elmo Treen, Jr and son-in-law Dan Wells.
In her working career, she was known as the matriarch of Conkle’s Florist, specializing in corsages, bows, cookie making and her famous potato soup. Donna was a hard worker her whole life, while attending OSU School of Cosmetology. She lived with and worked for a Columbus family. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Sugar”.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church, Kenton. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Donna to Wilkinson-McVitty Berlien Adult Day Center or Universal Home Health and Hospice.
