An over-the-counter pain medication that was purchased at Walmart in Wapakoneta appeared to have been tampered with.

The individual who purchased the item opened the cap and discovered the bottle contained a dark substance.

The item was returned to Walmart and the pharmacy was made aware of the incident.

The pharmacy department has removed the batch from circulation and also contacted the vendor.

The pills did not test positive for methamphetamines.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office stated that they are confident that Walmart is taking appropriate steps to resolve the issue.
