March 19-25 is Severe Weather Awareness Week.
In 2021, over 61,000 weather events resulted in 974 deaths and 1,667 injuries across the United States according to the National Safety Council.
The largest number of deaths and injuries resulted from tornadoes, high winds including thunderstorm winds, and wildfires.
Tomorrow (Wednesday March 22), a statewide tornado drill will be conducted in Ohio.
Everyone is encouraged to think about their safety plans for weather related emergencies and talk with your children about how to respond.
