Kenton Boys Tennis Competed at the WBL Tournament

The Kenton Boy Tennis team traveled to UNOH for the WBL Tournament Thursday.

In 1st singles, Seth Spencer beat Josh Schoen 6-1, 6-4 in round 1. In Round 2, he fell to Jake Ackroyd 1-6, 0-6, sending him to the backdraw where he lost to Noah Compton 1-8. Seth then had to withdraw from his match against Zach White, finishing the tournament in 8th place.

In 2nd singles, Leighton Wirbel beat Cole Story 6-2, 6-3 in Round 1. In round 2, he fell to Mason Latham 0-6, 0-6. In the backdraw, Leighton lost a close one to Colton Radar 7-9. In the 2nd backdraw, he bounced back to defeat Diego Rivera 8-3, securing 7th place overall.

In 3rd singles, Brian Rogers beat Levi Gerencser 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. In the second round, he fell to Chase Carpenter 0-6, 0-6. In the backdraw, Brian lost to Beau Bear 3-8, and in the second backdraw, he was defeated by Reese Schadl 3-8, finishing in 8th place.

At 1st doubles, Cale Harshfield/Wyatt Campbell lost to Aiden Latham/Sailor Drury 4-6, 4-6. In the backdraw, they lost to Kellan Harsha/Will Wittenmyer 1-6, 0-6. They still need to play the 2nd backdraw Saturday.

At 2nd doubles, Ethan McNamara/Tate Ketcham lost to Noah Jostpile/Zane Soloman 2-6, 1-6. In the backdraw they lost to Bentley Webb/Braycen Wright 5-8. In the 2nd backdraw they lost to Finn Tingle/Cameron Lime 5-8 to finish in 8th place.

Final results will not be available until Saturday’s matches. Then the Wildcats will travel to Bucyrus on Monday.
