The Kenton Wildcats girls basketball team kicked off WBL play with a solid 44-29 win at Van Wert. Battling through first-half foul trouble, the Cats came out strong in the third quarter to pull ahead. Stellar team defense, highlighted by tough man-to-man efforts from Emori Criner and Jaz Long, set the tone for the game. Sidney Payne led the scoring with 14 points, followed by Brylee Bostelman and Kaiden Gammon with 8 each. Criner added 6 points, Kaylee Barlow scored 4, and both Long and Allyson Rhinehart chipped in 2 apiece. The Cats improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the WBL, and will be back in action at home against Shawnee on Thursday, December 11th.
