
The wildcats ran off with the lead late in Lady Cats ran off with the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over Lima Central Catholic on Wednesday. The wildcats were down 5-3 in the top of the fifth inning when Macee Heckathorn homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
The wildcats earned the victory despite allowing Lima Central Catholic to score four runs in the first inning. Lima Central Catholic’s big inning was driven by a home run by Emma Skinner, a groundout by Carolina Kill, and a double by Anna Wannemacher.
Brynn Butler was the winning pitcher for Lady Cats. The pitcher allowed seven hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out seven.
Skinner took the loss for Lima Central Catholic. Skinner went five innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out six.
The Lady Cats launched one home run on the day. Heckathorn had a four bagger in the fifth inning.
Brayla Butler led The Cats with three hits. Cailyn Brown, Brylee Ramge had singles and Brynn Butler had a double.
