Kenton Varsity Softball beats Perry 22 – 5

Alexis Ratliff collected four hits in five at bats, as the Kenton Wildcats defeated Perry 22-5 on Wednesday. Ratliff tripled in the third inning, doubled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

The Wildcats got on the board in the top of the first inning after Brayla Butler tripled, scoring one run, Macee Heckathorn doubled, scoring one run, Ratliff doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Kylee Kavanaugh doubled, scoring two runs.

Kenton scored seven runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Butler singled, scoring one run, Ratliff singled, scoring one run, Kaylee Barlow singled, scoring one run, Emori Criner singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Lynnze Michel singled, scoring one run.

The Wildcats added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Ratliff tripled down the left field line, Barlow grounded out, Lyla Gammon singled to right field, and Michel singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Kenton scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Gammon doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, and Peyton Rudasill doubled, scoring two runs.

Kavanaugh earned the win for Kenton Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher allowed seven hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Kennedy Essex took the loss for Perry. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing 11 runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.

The Wildcats piled up 19 hits in the game. Criner, Butler, Michel, Gammon, and Rudasill each collected multiple hits for Kenton. Criner and Gammon each stole multiple bases for Kenton. The Wildcats stole six bases in the game.
