Kenton Varsity Wildcats had trouble keeping up with Ada in a 13-3 loss on Thursday.
Ada got on the board in the second inning after Aidra Preston doubled, scoring one run.Ada scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Natilyn McClain singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Reese Jordan doubled, scoring three runs.
Brayla Butler homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third for the Kenton Varsity Wildcats.
Ada scored six runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Jenna Bassitt doubled, scoring one run, Emily Shanks singled, scoring one run, McClain singled, scoring one run, Tess Griffith doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Dailah Preston drew a walk, scoring one run.
Peyton Rudasill led things off in the circle for Kenton Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher allowed 11 hits and 13 runs (two earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four. Bassitt began the game for Ada. The hurler allowed six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking none.
Butler provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Kenton Varsity Wildcats with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Riley Totten set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Kenton Varsity Wildcats with two hits in three at bats.
Kenton Varsity Wildcats welcome McComb on Saturday for their next game.
