Kenton Varsity Softball falls to Celina Senior 3 – 2

Both teams were strong in the circle on Thursday, but Celina was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-2 victory over the Wildcats. Peyton Rudasill started the game for Kenton Varsity Wildcats and recorded 18 outs.

Celina opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. Celina got on the board when Campbell Gass scored after tagging up.

A single by Colbie Kinney extended the Celina lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Kinney earned the win for Celina. The hurler surrendered three hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking none. Rudasill took the loss for Kenton. The starter went six innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking none.

Macee Heckathorn led the Wildcats with one run batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Riley Totten, Heckathorn, and Alexis Ratliff each collected one hit for Kenton Varsity Wildcats. Kaylee Barlow had a long at bat resulting in a run for Kenton on an error to left field in the sixth. 

Next up for Kenton Varsity Wildcats is a game against Cory-Rawson on Friday.
