The Wildcats had trouble keeping up with Elida in an 8-0 loss on Thursday.
A tag up by Lily Sifrit put Elida on the board in the bottom of the first.
Sifrit earned the win for Elida. The left-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Alexis Ratliff took the loss for Kenton. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering eight runs (two earned) on nine hits, striking out five and walking two.
Brayla Butler led Kenton with two hits in three at bats.
Maddie Kill provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Elida with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Sifrit collected two hits for Elida in four at bats.
Next up for Kenton is a game against Bath on Tuesday.
