The Ben Logan Raiders traveled to Northwestern Saturday afternoon to take on the Warriors in a CBC girls basketball contest.

The JV Raiders started off the afternoon with a huge win beating the Warriors 40 to 19. A balanced scoring attach led to 10 girls scored. Leading the way was Illiana Vermillion with 8 points. Miley Buettner had 7 points and Aubrey Harris scored 5 points. Also helping in the win was an amazing team defense. As a team, Ben Logan had 16 steals in the game. Brielle Kline had 5 of those 16 steals.

Then, the Varsity Raiders got their 2nd win of the season, beating the Warriors 32 to 27. Although they offensively couldn’t get their shots to fall, their defense was outstanding, holding Northwestern’s three leading scorers to just 19 points total. Offensively, it was a team effort with 7 of the 11 girls scoring on the night. Kylie Harner had 11 points, Adillynne Gregg with 7 points, Rylan Norviel with 6 points, Kaylee Hays with 3 points, Jozie Taylor and Addison Kuhn both added 2 points each. The Lady Raiders had 19 team steals and fewer than 10 turnovers on the night. The Raiders’ improvement has been evident on the defensive side of the floor.

Both teams look to extend their winning streak on Wednesday as they host the Kenton Ridge Cougars with JV starting at 6:00 pm.
