
The Kenton Wildcats edged out Ridgemont 7-6 on Wednesday after a late-game rally. Tied at six in the bottom of the sixth, a passed ball brought in the winning run. Rylee Woodruff had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with singles in the third, fourth, and sixth innings. Ridgemont got on the board early with an RBI groundout by Ella Manns in the first, followed by a run in the second and an RBI double from Addison Coy to make it 2-0. Kenton took a 4-3 lead in the fourth thanks to a hit-by-pitch RBI from Kaylee Barlow and a two-run single by Woodruff. Ridgemont regained the lead in the fifth with a two-run single from Brilynn Rudasill, but Kenton answered with two runs in the bottom half. Aubrie Overly’s RBI single tied the game for Ridgemont in the sixth before Kenton pulled ahead for good. Kylee Kavanagh earned the win, allowing four hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings with three strikeouts. Manns took the loss, giving up three runs (two earned) in three innings. Woodruff also pitched in relief for Kenton. Emori Criner added two hits, while Alexis Ratliff drew two walks as Kenton showed patience at the plate with five total walks. Rudasill led Ridgemont with two RBIs. Kenton heads to Ottawa-Glandorf next on Friday.
