The Kenton Wildcats rallied past Riverdale for a 45-43 victory in boys basketball action Saturday.

Coby Miller hit a baseline jumper with a minute to play to give Riverdale a 43-41 lead, but Jayden Cornell drained a three-pointer with 17.3 seconds left to put the Wildcats on top 44-43.

After Riverdale (4-2) misfired on its ensuing possession, Kenton rebounded and Cornell was fouled. The Kenton junior, who scored Kenton’s last nine points, split a pair of free throws to make it 45-43 with 4.2 ticks left, and the Wildcats (5-2) then forced a turnover to seal the win.

Brock Davis had 12 points to lead Riverdale.

Kenton, which has won four straight, got 20 points and five rebounds from Jacob Eversole. Cornell finished with 11 points and was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.
