A number of keys races and issues were decided, and a few more await results from Tuesday’s Election.
The unresolved ones have to do with write-in candidates for Kenton City Council At Large and 2nd Ward seats as well as for positions on the Kenton City Schools’ Board of Education.
The Hardin County Board of Elections continues to sort through those votes, and they hope to have those results by the end of today.
In the ones decided, the Kenton Charter Commission proposal was soundly defeated, 570 against and 319 in favor.
4th Ward councilmember Chad Miller, who spearheaded the effort, expected the results to be closer, but he will try again, “The seed’s been planted, hopefully in the community and we can kind of grow from there. Hopefully I can get out and educate more on the real value of it as far as how I understand it I guess, I mean I don’t want to discredit anybody’s opinion or anybody’s take on it, because we’re all entitled to that, but just on the facts of it I feel like we just need to get out and provide more education on it.”
He added that he was grateful for the support that was received, including from his fellow council members.
