Wyandot County Sheriff Todd Frey stated that he has started the process of removing Flock cameras from around Wyandot County.

In a release Sheriff Frey said his office explored the idea of having the cameras strategically placed in the county a little over year ago.

After consideration, he said he supported and authorized the 16 cameras to help with Criminal Investigations and Search/Rescue of cases of Alzheimer, Dementia, Runaways and Missing Person/Children investigations.

The Sheriff said he spoke with many people over the past several weeks and listened to their opinions and concerns about whether they were for or against the new technology before making the decision to remove them.

Sheriff Frey concluded that his office has investigated and solved a variety of cases prior to the implementation of Flock Cameras, and they will continue that same goal moving ahead without them.
