Wapakoneta used a big second quarter to roll past Kenton 64-29 in Division II boys basketball sectional tournament play at Findlay.
The Redskins improve to 14-9 and will meet Defiance for the sectional crown Friday at Findlay.
The Wildcats end their season with a 14-9 record.
The game was tied at 11-apiece after Kenton’s Jayden Cornell hit a three-pointer at the first-quarter horn, but the Redskins dominated the rest of the game. Wapakoneta outscored Kenton 31-2 in the second period to grab a commanding 42-13 halftime edge, and the Cats could not make a significant dent into the Redskins’ advantage over the final two quarters.
Aaron Good had 22 points to lead Wapakoneta while Adam Scott scored 21 points.
Kenton was led by Cornell’s 11 points.
