Kenton Falls to Crestview in Varsity Softball Action Monday

Kenton Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-5 loss to Crestview on Monday.

Crestview scored on a single by R Hammons, a single by B Gregory, a single by K Smalls, an error, and a single by O Cunningham in the second inning.

The Kenton Wildcats struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Crestview, giving up 12 runs.

Crestview got things started in the second inning. Hammons drove in one when Hammons singled.

Kenton Wildcats tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Riley Reed had an RBI walk in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Smalls earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Crestview. The fireballer went four innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out eight. O Heckler threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jill Burd took the loss for Kenton Wildcats . The righty surrendered 12 runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out five.

Kenton Wildcats tallied five hits. Brynn Butler and Lacie Nichols each had multiple hits for Kenton Wildcats . Nichols and Butler each collected two hits to lead Kenton Wildcats.
