The Hardin County Commissioners say that employees of Hardin Hills Health Center should receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

At a recent meeting, Administrator Sharon Huston reported that 10 nursing and therapy staff members are refusing to the get the vaccination.

That may require those not vaccinated to wear full PPE and test twice a week indefinitely.

Commissioner Roger Crowe said he is not in favor of that since it would cause too many extra and unnecessary expenses.

The Commissioners agreed that the staff needs to be vaccinated.

They stated that if an employee makes the decision not to get the vaccine, it will be considered the employee’s voluntary resignation, and only extenuating circumstances would be considered.
