The Kenton City School District is staying with the current 10 day quarantine protocol for those who are positive or have a positive COVID-19 case in their household.

The Centers for Disease Control released new guidelines allowing positive case persons to return after 5 days if asymptomatic.  However, they must wear a mask for the next 5 days they attend school.

School nurse Mindy Hensel stated that they feel the 10 day quarantine protocols have helped greatly reduce transmission potential at school, and they are concerned with the monitoring/enforcement burden on school personnel when trying to track a limited and changing number of students who are required to mask.

If you have any questions, you are encouraged to contact Mindy Hensel at 419-673-7248 option 3.
