Another Big Day for KHS Awards Day
The Kenton High School Awards Day was held Tuesday.
45 students applied for Dollars for Scholarships, 43 students applied for Local Scholarships/The Kenton Excellence for Education Scholarships, 49 students applied for the R.E. & Joan Allen Scholarships.
A total of $241,300 in scholarships were awarded.
That is an increase of around $32,000 from 2021.
The R.E. and Joan Allen Foundation Scholarships totaled $65,000 for 49 seniors, up about $5,000 from last year.
Local Scholarships total including scholarships with separate applications was $34,550 given to 41 seniors, up about $4,000.
Dollars for Scholarships was $18,400 given to 40 seniors, an increase of about $3,000.
Kenton Excellence for Education Foundation was $123,350 given to 43 seniors, up about $19,000 from last year.
